As the Chinese Team set off for Suzhou last week for the 2015 World Championships, the youngest player in the men’s team, Fan Zhendong, revealed his goal in the competition. Although he was a little bit careful with his choices of words, it’s clear that the 18-year old actually aims to win in Suzhou as well. He hopes to win every match.
Sina Sports. Before the Chinese National Team set off for Suzhou last week, one of the youngest participants in the World Championships, Fan Zhendong revealed his goal in the competition.
At 18 years old, [[Fan Zhendong]] is considered to be one of the youngest players to participate in the upcoming World Championships. However, unlike the other young players, this Chinese teenager is no stranger to world competitions already.
In 2011, Fan Zhendong had his first appearance in the Singles. He only lasted in the Round 32, losing to the eventual winner [[Zhang Jike]] in a sweeping loss. Despite loss, through such competition, Fan Zhendong learned more about himself.

“This is my second time to participate in the World Championships Singles. I feel I can bring some of the experiences into this competition. So in the next days, I’m going to communicate more with my coach.” Fan Zhendong said.
After two years since Paris, Fan Zhendong has indeed progressed a lot. He is now a World Tour champion and a strong contender for the Rio Olympics. Of course, if he will be able to perform well in Suzhou, then he will increased his chances in the Olympic Games.
“The importance of winning the gold is very heavy but in a competition, you still need to fight one round after the other. Therefore, I need to give myself a semi-actual goal in order for me to move forward.” He revealed.
“That semi-actual target is to beat my opponent in every round.” Fan Zhendong clarified.
