Go master Cho wins best-of-three series against Japan-made AI

DeepZenGo uses deep learning and other advanced technologies. It is being developed with support mainly from Dwango Co., a video-sharing website operator, and the University of Tokyo.

  Visabot has launched a namesake Facebook Messenger chat AI that helps you complete US visa applications. After you answer a slew of questions, the bot fills out the relevant forms and gives you instructions on how to send those documents to immigration officials. And it should learn over time -- if you voluntarily report officials' decisions on those forms, you can improve the bot's approach for future applications.

Google Translate just got a lot smarter

Google said Tuesday it has vastly improved its Google Translate app, available on phones and the web. 

The search giant said it's now incorporating "neural machine translation" into the software, which means it can translate whole sentences at a time, instead of breaking the text down to smaller chunks and translating those pieces. 

The result is translations coming out more natural, with better syntax and grammar, Google said.
