Joint NGO letter to Juncker to stop logging in Bialowieza

The Białowieża Forest is the last remaining natural lowland forest in Europe © WWF/ Janusz KorbelWWF and other NGOs sent a letter to EU Commission's President Juncker, VP Timmermans and Environment Commissioner Vella asking to stop the Polish Government from logging the UNESCO Bialowieza Forest. 

The Polish government recently authorised triple logging in the forest, in breach of the EU Habitats Directive. 

NGOs are asking the EU Commission to fast-track the decision-making in respect of the infringement procedure against the Polish government.
