On June 22nd, 2016, BIC celebrated the 30th anniversary of its founding at an event at the U.S. Botanic Gardens. Minority Leader of the U.S. House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi attended the event, and gave remarks on BIC’s history and work.
Professor David Hunter (American University American College of Law, BIC Board of Directors) served as the evening’s master of ceremony. The program also included remarks from Cardinal Theodore McCarrick (Archbishop Emeritus of Washington), Randy Hayes (Rainforest Action Network), Lori Udall (Sacharuna Fund), Guillermo Castilleja (The Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation), Chad Dobson (BIC Executive Director), and Jeffrey Hall (incoming Executive Director at BIC).
In addition, the Bank Information Center bid farewell to Chad Dobson, who retired on June 30, 2016. Mr. Dobson has served as BIC’s Executive Director for the past nine years. A longtime activist, Chad founded the Bank Information Center in 1987 and ran it for 10 years. Chad is passing the leadership of BIC to Jeffrey Hall beginning July 5th.
