Debbie joined the Bank Information Center in April 2016 to work on the Forest Campaign. Previously she was working with Charborn, a sustainable agriculture business she cofounded to promote sustainable biochar use in California. Debbie’s pursuit of community based environmental solutions began while working at the New Economics Institute with community land groups on alternate systems of land ownership. Debbie has been committed to showing the importance of forests through her work at Conservation International on ecosystem based adaptation, where she used a geospatial analysis to find climate change adaptation strategies. She has also modeled land use change in Costa Rica to predict future forest cover under three economic growth scenarios. Debbie is excited to continue working to support forests and communities at BIC.

Debbie has a BA in Environmental Sciences, a BA in Economics from the University of Michigan, and a Master of Environmental Science and Management from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
