VMware vCloud Air picks up Best Cloud Computing Award at 2015 Tech Hero Awards

This week the results of the Inquirer’s inaugural Tech Hero Awards were announced, celebrating the best business IT products, companies and people across the industry.

We are delighted to announce that VMware’s vCloud Air won the Best Cloud Computing Product award. Richard Munro, Chief Technologist for vCloud Air in EMEA who was also a finalist for the Tech Champion award category, was there to collect the prize.

This is the second award this year the vCloud Air team has collected in the UK, following a win for the ‘most innovative enterprise product of the year’ at the UK Cloud Awards in March. What’s more, the winners were voted for by the Inquirer’s readers, reflecting the impact that vCloud Air has had across the industry.

vCloud Air is VMware’s hybrid cloud solution, providing businesses with a public cloud platform that can be used to seamlessly extend on-premises workloads into the cloud. Built on VMware’s vSphere technology, vCloud Air currently supports over 5,000 applications and over 90 operating systems, allowing it to support the public cloud needs of any organisation.
