Zaha Hadid (1950-2016) was an Iraqi-born British architect, who received great notoriety and many important prizes throughout her career. Some of her most notable designs include the Broad Art Museum in Michigan or the Guangzhou Opera House in China.
She was born in Baghdad, but studied and worked in England, Switzerland, Lebanon, and The Netherlands. She went on to become a Harvard professor, and also taught at other universities in the United States, Germany, and Austria. She designed numerous buildings all around the world in a neo-futuristic style, and achieved a reputation as the world’s top female architect.
