Some news! After 6 amazing years, last Friday was my last day at Tumblr.
It has been an incredible adventure. I’m proud of the work we’ve done, what’s been set into motion, and I’m excited to see what comes next.
As fun as it is to work on something you use and love, more than anything, I’ll miss hanging out with my favorite people everyday. That is a group of kind, smart people whom I’d be lucky to work with again. Truly a group of weirdos I never thought would all be in the same room. There are mornings I would wake up sore from laughing so hard the day before. There’s not an easy way to justify walking away from that, but I know we’ll remain close.
I can’t say how grateful I am to david, the Creative team, and so many others along the way for allowing me to experiment, learn, and grow at Tumblr. I think that when you’re at a place like Tumblr, you’re allowed to work creatively in a way that changes the way you think, and I hope I can take that with me wherever I go.
There’s more to come — I’m excited for what’s next. It will have many of the same challenges Tumblr had when I started. A tiny team with giant ideas. In the meantime I’ve taken a month off to see my family and do a bit of traveling with Brittany.
